NH Department of Health and Human Services has a Full-Time Physician Vacancy with the Disability Determination Unit

Physician Scope of Services

The Physician shall provide services to the Department by providing medical and related expertise when assessing, determining and reviewing applicant eligibility for disability benefits through Home Care for Children with Severe Disabilities (HC-CSD). Services shall include but not be limited to:

A. Reviewing and assessing client medical records used in developing cases, including written evaluation summaries and eligibility recommendations in accordance with State and Federal regulations.

B. Prepare written summaries based on Administrative Appeals Unit remand orders.

C. Serve as a medical witness for the Department in cases that are appealed.

A pediatrics, family practice or internal medicine/pediatrics with experience in pediatrics is essential for this position. This is a full-time position with full benefits.

Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Practice MD or DO

Goodwin Community Health, located in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire is searching for a Full-time (40 hours per week) Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Practice MD or DO to join our dynamic team of providers. There is no OB, unless strongly desired. There is minimal call with a maximum panel size of 1,400. Primary Care APRN

Riverbend Integrated Center for Health (RICH) Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based mental health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a full-time or part-time Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to provide primary care medical services to adult clients with serious mental illness who have or are at risk for co-morbid primary care conditions and chronic diseases. This position is part of a new program focusing on true integration of physical and behavioral healthcare based in Concord, New Hampshire.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and record health histories of clients and perform comprehensive physical assessment (including biological, social and psychological needs) as part of a total physical
  • Diagnose, treat and plan appropriate health care for clients on the team; refer clients for specialty care as required.  Provide and prescribe medications within area of specialty.
  • Order laboratory procedures and interpret results.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure case management needs of clients are met.
  • Provide education to clients regarding health conditions, birth control methods, sexually transmitted diseases and other health concerns.
  • Establish and maintain clients’ electronic medical record and other necessary records.
  • Provide in-service training for team members and agency staff.

Qualifications:

  • Active New Hampshire APRN license
  • Certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Nurses Credential Center.
  • Active DEA certificate
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an APRN is required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with chronic mental illness a plus

Addiction Medicine Physician

Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based mental health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a part-time BE/BC physician to provide medication assisted treatment and clinical leadership to a talented multi-disciplinary team treating individuals with substance use disorders

As a Riverbend physician, your primary responsibilities will be direct clinical care in an outpatient setting with regular office hours. You’ll also work closely with other clinical staff — both inside and outside Riverbend — to continually shape and develop an effective and integrated system of care.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and evaluate patient data to diagnose nature and extent of substance use disorder(s)
  • Prescribe, direct, and administer treatments and/or medications
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, and other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress
  • Maintain regular daytime office hours, approximately 16 to 20 hours per week.

Requirements

  • New Hampshire medical license
  • Current DEA certificate
  • Waiver to prescribe Buprenorphine
  • Board Certification in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and knowledge of health care systems
